How long do chooks lay for?

Depends on bird and breed. Experience with Isabrowns is that most continue laying for at least 5 years but you get fewer eggs as they get older. The good news is that, as the eggs get fewer, they get bigger, and the biggest one I’ve had is a 106 gram monster, although a friend of mine once had a 140 gram triple yolker – now that’s an egg!
